Ticket Sales / Attendance: There were 74,059 people in attendance and 153.4 million viewers.

 

Team Pre-Season Stats: The Saints finished the season with 13-3 record. Their offense led the NFL in scoring, with an average of 32 pionts a game. Dree Brees, picked up by New Orleans in 2005, finished 2010 season as the NFL's top rated quarterback. Colston, Henderson, and Meachem were on the other end of those passes. Colston caught 70 for 1,074 yards and 0 touchdowns. Will Smith, a defensive lineman, had 13 sacks and linebacker Jonathan Vilma let the team with 87 tackles and 3 intercepted passes.

The colts also had a great year in 2010, With a strong start to the season, winning their first 14 games, ending the season 14-2. With Peyton Manning leading the way, throwing for 4,500 yards and 33 touchdowns during the season. Reggie Wayne, receiver let the team in yardage, 1,260 and Dallas Clark was a close second at 1,106 yards. Dwight Freeney had 13.5 sacks while Robert Mathis added antoher 9.5.

 

Game Highlights: In their first appearance ever, (since inception in 1967), in a SuperBowl, the New Orleans Saints defeated the Colts by a score of 31-17. The Colts led through the 3rd quarter with a 53 yard drive that resulted in a 38 yd field goal made by kicker Matt Stover. Peyton Manning completed 3 passes for 35 yards, the last one a 19-yard touchdown bring the game to 10-0 at the end of the first quarter. During the second quarter, the Saints played their "Ambush" play, the first onside kick of the game.

 

Game MVP:Drew Brees. He completed 32 of 39 passes at 288 yards. With two touchdowns.

 

Half Time Show: The Who were on at halftime, playing a medley of their hits. Some of the songs were Pinball Wizard, Who are you, and See Me, Feel Me.

 

Commercials: Anheuser-Busch had eight spots during the game. Pepsi-Cola, however, did not advertise this year, the first time in 23 years that they have not. They backed out 6 days prior to the game. In addition, FedEx backed out. Two of the official NFL sponsers. Not sure why. Money, I assume!

There were three car makers,Ford advertised the Ford Edge. McDonalds, Doritos, and Chrysler's Dogde were some of the other advertisers.
