Millions of fans from around the world would tune in to watch the NFL Green Bay Packers take on the AFL Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl II.

Team Pre-Season Stats: The Green Bay Packers came into the season as defending Super Bowl Champions and were once again looking to prove their dominance and that of their league, the NFL. Head coach Vince Lombardi would once again count on MVP quarterback Bart Starr to lead the team and the Packers were ready to make another playoff run amid rumours of players and coaches leaving at the end of the season. The Oakland Raiders were coming into the season after never making the playoffs and had a lot to prove in the AFL. Head coach John Rauch would count on newly acquired quarterback Daryle Lamonica from Buffalo to lead his Raiders to their first playoff appearance in franchise history. They would also need a solid season from their defence if they wanted to compete against the other teams in the AFL.
Team Roster:Key players on the Packers roster included QB Bart Starr, DL Willie Davis, WR Boyd Dowler, DB Bob Jeter, OL Jerry Kramer, RB Ben Wilson, and WR Carroll Dale. The notable players for the Raiders included QB Daryle Lamonica, WR Fred Biletnikoff, DB Willie Brown, LB Dan Conners, DL Ben Davidson, RB Hewritt Dixon, and DL Tom Keating.
Game Highlights:The Green Bay Packers got out to an early lead in the game as Don Chandler kicked 2 field goals and Bart Starr completed a 62 yard touchdown pass to Boyd Dowler to take a 13-0 lead over the Raiders. The Raiders responded with a touchdown in the 2nd quarter from Lamonica to Miller, but Green Bay answered before the half with another field goal from Don Chandler. The second half was all Packers once again as they scored 17 more points while Oakland could only managed 1 touchdown. The Packers would win their second straight Super Bowl showing the dominance of the NFL over the AFL and it would also be the last game for legendary head coach Vince Lombardi who retired after this game.
Game MVP:The Most Valuable Player of the 2nd Super Bowl was Green Bay Packers quarterback Bart Starr. Starr went 13 of 24 passing for 202 yards including a 62 yard touchdown pass which helped the Packers win the second consecutive Superbowl championship and his second consecutive MVP award.
Half Time Show:The halftime show for this year's game featured a performance by the Grambling State University Band.
Commercials:The average cost for a 30 second commercial during the 2nd Superbowl was $54000 and this was an increase of $12000 from the first Super Bowl a year ago. Companies were now beginning to see the large market they could reach via TV during this sporting event.
