About Pasadena, California: Southern California City Pasadena would once again play host to a major football event, but this time it would not be the Rose Bowl, it would be the biggest professional game of all Super Bowl 14. Residents of the area would get to see their Los Angeles Rams take on the defending champion Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XIV.

Team Pre-Season Stats: The Pittsburgh Steelers were reining Super Bowl Champions and were looking to repeat in the 1979-80 season. The offence would once again be led by superstar QB Terry Bradshaw and 7 time Pro Bowl running back Franco Harris. The defence would be strong yet again led by the likes of "Mean" Joe Greene. The Los Angeles Rams were looking to rebound this season after a shut out loss to the Dallas Cowboys in last year's NFC Championship game. Pate Haden would be back as quarterback for the team, but head coach Ray Malavasi would need an effort from all of the team to make it to the Super Bowl.

Game Highlights: The Rams were heavy underdogs entering the game, as this wild card team were taking on 3 time Super Bowl champs Pittsburgh. However, this did not stop them from taking a 13-10 lead into the half. 2 field goals from Frank Corral and a rushing touchdown from Joe Harris gave L.A. this surprising lead and the momentum going into the 2nd half. However, the ever poised Steelers and Terry Bradshaw overcame 3 interceptions and trailing twice in the 2nd half to take the lead. Bradshaw completed a 47 yard pass to Lynn Swann to take a 17-13 lead and then connected on a 73 yard pass to John Stallworth to give the Steelers a 24-19 lead and one they would not let slip. Franco Harris added another 1 yard TD run, his 2nd of the game to cement a 31-19 victory and the Steelers 4th Super Bowl Championship.
Game MVP: The MVP of the 14th Super Bowl was Steelers QB Terry Bradshaw. Bradshaw became the first player to earn back-to-back MVP honours since Bart Starr in Super Bowls 1 and 2. He completed 14 of 21 passes for 309 yards and 2 touchdowns. With these stats he became the Super Bowl leader with 9 touchdown passes and 932 total yards passing.
Half Time Show: The halftime show was presented by Up With People and was themed "Salute to the Big Band Era" and of course featured Up With People a group of performers presenting upbeat songs using vocal soloists, a choir, electric guitars, and other instruments.
