Super Bowl Tampa: 2009 Hits South Florida!

Super Bowl Tampa is rapidly approaching: The big day comes on February 1, 2009.

Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, University of South Florida Bulls and the New Year's Day Outback Bowl is the lucky location in 2009. Recognized as one of the best facilities in the NFL, some refer to it as the "crown jewel" of the NFL, with a pirate ship that comes to life after the Buccaneers score. The cannons fire seven times for a touchdown and three times for a field gowl. It is an authentic replica of an 1800 pirate ship.

This will be the 2nd Super Bowl to be played in this stadium, 4th in Tampa.

Super Bowl XXXV on January 28, 2001

Baltimore Ravens 34 - New York Giants 7

Super Bowl XXV on January 27, 1991

New York Giants 20 - Buffalo Bills 19

Super Bowl XVIII on January 22, 1984

Los Angeles Raiders 38 - Washington Redskins 9

The Super Bowl logo will be comprised of blue and green colors to represent the landscapes and waterways surrounding Tampa Bay. NBC will be televising the game with Al Michaels as announcer and John Madden as commentator.

Tampa Bay is Getting Ready

Drafting of volunteers has already begun to ensure the success of Super Bowl XLIII. Over 6,000 volunteers are needed to welcome over 100,000 visitors. Travel, rooms and game day tickets are being packaged for many different options. Rooms from right downtown Tampa or Orland Disney World can be chosen.

Who will be there?

Right now it's anyone's guess which two football teams will be competing in 2009's world NFL championship bowl game, but it won't be long before pundits all over the world will be making their best conjectures -- even before the first football is passed in pre-season.

Tampa Super Bowl XLIII (43) tickets cost a cool $2000-5000 if you want to attend, but scalpers will soon be driving the price up, so you'd better get them immediately if not sooner.
