Superbowl recipes du jour
What kind of Super Bowl party do you want to throw?
If you're deep into tradition, how about a tailgate party? Standard tailgate food includes hamburgers, hotdogs, and other easily-grilled items served outdoors. If you'd prefer to avoid the February cold, move it indoors, where you can try just about any recipe under the sun. If you're in the South, or the Super Bowl is, why not served traditional southern items like fried chicken, gumbo, and Moon Pies? Or pick a theme, from Mexican to Hawaiian (mmm...poi).
Of course, cold beer is a must. If you want to go all out, or experiment with food that's never occurred to you before, magazines like Gourmet and Bon Appetit offer excellent Superbowl recipes every year. Or kick it up a notch with Emeril's Superbowl party goodies!
There's something to say for tradition
Of course, many of us just love traditional Superbowl yummies like chips and dips, so don't forget those. Plain old soda, popcorn, and the like can be a hit at any Superbowl party. Oh, and don't forget the champagne for when your favorite team wins!
