Fantasy football leagues are a way for football fans to get in on the action by forming their own leagues and drafting NFL football players.

It is called fantasy football because the leagues are just for fun and any one team contains pros from various rosters.

Fans choose the members based on their previous stats and ratings. The league is registered online and fans that participate pay an equal amount to be able to take part. The online site provides a wealth of information to help you choose the members and keeps you updated throughout the season as to how each of them is doing. Even if you don't watch football on a regular basis, you can take part in fantasy football.

Types of Fantasy Football Leagues

There are many different types of fantasy leagues you can have and choosing the best one for you can often be frustrating. This why friends, that are also football fans, tend to form their own leagues. Some of the different types of leagues include:

• Standard. These are the usual type of fantasy leagues where the fans choose the members based on the same method used by the NFL. Each one takes a turn, which means you won't always get the top rated pros.
• Auction. In this type of league, each person has a pre-determined amount of money to bid on pros on the roster of another.
• Dynasty. These leagues run for several seasons and are for the more serious football fans. Only rookies are added at the start of each season.
• Keeper. In this league, you are only allowed to keep a certain number of your last year's roster in place.
